Rebekah’s Patrol Camp, Battle Hill, 9-11 November, 2018

Arriving on Friday evening after a day of rain meant the normally placid stream crossing was slightly more interesting for our vehicles (and the scouts!) than it would be normally! Luckily the rain eased to wetting mist while we put the tents up. A cooked breakfast the following morning was greeted by sunshine and an expedition was mounted to explore the farm. We got views of the new Transmission Gully road works while spotting birds and identifying plants.

Rebekah learnt that ‘when leading’ it was important to delegate to others and that it was hard to not to just do things oneself.

Three individual fires were lit – to combine into one camp fire. A thick bed of ashes was ideal for making s’mores on Saturday evening.
