Keas

5 – 8 year olds, girls and boys

Keas meet on Tuesdays at 5:30pm at the Scout Hall during the school term (no Keas during public or school holidays).

Fun and friendship are the cornerstones of the Kea programme. Keas opens the door for young people to discover the world. It is filled with a little bit of everything: outdoor activities, games, and crafts. Along the way, Keas meet new friends, learn cooperation and teamwork, and develop self-confidence.

Contact one of our Kea leaders for more information.

Denise Church
Denise started volunteering at Brooklyn Scout Group in 2010 when her daughter was in Scout Section. She has enjoyed all her Scouting experiences including two NZ Jamborees and an Australian Jamboree and being a member of the Scouts Aotearoa board. Denise continues to be amazed by how Keas can grow and develop by creating and leading their own experiences. She is currently a Trustee of the Scout Youth Foundation which supports disadvantaged youth in Scouting. Outside Scouting, Denise works as a company director, and consultant in leadership and strategy.

Anna

Anna is a boxing coach and youth mentor born and raised in Poneke. Her passion for both teaching kids and sports has taken her across the globe as a snowboard instructor to countries such as Japan, Canada, and South Korea. An army cadet through high school she’s always had family contacts at Brooklyn Scouts, and when an opportunity came up to help out she jumped at the chance! Out of the scout hall you’ll catch her lifting weights or tearing down the street on her skateboard.
