A fabulous time was had by about 80 keas, cubs, scouts and their families:   takeaways followed by sumptuous deserts and a series of traditional campfire skits.
A great way for Brooklyn Group families to get together, and a big thank you to David and Anneleah for organising.   And happy birthday to Neil, who celebrated his birthday.

Brooklyn Scouts 70 years ago!

Brooklyn Scouts had a fascinating visit from John Cook former Brooklyn Scout and Queens Scout.   John regaled the Scouts with stories from the 1940s and 50s.  Back then, Brooklyn Scouts were an important part of the local community, as they are today.  John generously donated some badges and his original Patrol Leaders certificate to the group archives.  John lined up for photos with his Patrol Leaders certificate from 1952, and scouts Lucia and Sam who were receiving their Assistant Patrol Leaders certificates 65 years on.   He also enjoyed damper and jam breadsticks cooked by the scouts over their fire grills.
